A Young Woman And Her Initiative For Justice

About RONICA:

Ronica is a vibrant young woman born and raised in Churachandpur town of Manipur. Hailing from the Zou tribe , she lives with her family in Churachandpur. She completed her Master’s degree from  Tata Institute Of Social Sciences , Mumbai  in Social Work with a specialization in Criminology and Justice. She has experiences of working with children and youth in the community, women in Prison, and victims of violence.

WORK: Ronica is Fellow with the Criminal Justice Fellowship Programme of Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She is working in Churachandpur on the topic of ‘Victims of State Violence’ with a focus on rehabilitation. Through her work, she aims to  give a sense of meaning, access to justice, focus on well being and rehabilitation  and empowerment so people can define their own sense of justice and stand up for their rights.

She is passionate about human rights and justice and keenly interested in creating safe spaces for youth in a place like Manipur where culture of fear prevails, so they can have a healthy upbringing. She enjoys reading, music, gardening, hiking and travelling.
