At the Rural Women Upliftment Society (RWUS), we are a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized women and girls in Manipur, India through skill training and livelihood programs. Our mission is to empower grassroots communities through capacity building, awareness raising, trainings, advocacy and lobby work, networking and alliance building, and support.
Volunteering in the hills of Manipur
As a volunteer with RWUS, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and initiatives aimed at promoting women’s empowerment, protecting children’s rights, and preventing human trafficking. You will gain valuable skills and experience in areas such as community outreach, advocacy, research, and event planning. Most importantly, you will be making a difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals and communities.
RWUS is based in Churachandpur, in Manipur, India. The nearest airport in Imphal, which is well conencted to major metro airports like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, VChennai, Bangalore, etc. From Imphal airport to RWUS office is abound 65 kilometers and takes about an hour and a half. RWUS will provide decent logistics to volunteers.

- Relief distribution during the nationwide lockdown at the start of the pandemic
- Climate change adaptation and sustainable development programs
- Livelihood support for women through training and financial assistance
- Promotion of clean energy to rural households Safeguarding the environment with women at the forefront
